ACCESS / CLEAR BY DESIGN
Your team sees
what it should.
Fieldnote uses organisation membership and role permissions, then applies the package’s enabled modules. Server-side checks protect workspace actions and records; navigation visibility is only a convenience.
Explore FieldnoteOrganisation-scoped workspacesCustomer and operational records are associated with the selected organisation.
Role permissionsSeparate access for day-to-day operations, finance and field work.
Package entitlementsEnabled modules follow the active subscription package.
Protected workflow actionsThe API checks permissions; hiding a control is not the security boundary.
BEFORE YOU START
Good to know.
What’s included today—and what isn’t.
How are packages and prices decided?
The package list comes from Fieldnote’s active plan catalogue. The displayed amount is the recurring price per seat in the interval shown; each package also lists its seat range, trial (if configured) and enabled modules. If no package is listed, no plan is currently published. Applicable taxes and payment terms should be confirmed before purchase.
How do I get started?
Create an owner workspace through registration. Subscription & Billing shows currently active packages. Business-profile editing and staff invitations/acceptance are still under development, so confirm onboarding requirements before moving live operations into Fieldnote.
Can technicians use Fieldnote on a phone?
Yes. The field workspace is designed for mobile browsers and supports assigned work, work logs, parts, expenses, photos, customer sign-off and job cards. It currently requires an internet connection; offline mode is not available.
Can my customers pay an invoice online?
This version supports staff recording and allocating payments against invoices. Customer-facing online invoice payment is not available. PayFast is integrated for Fieldnote subscription checkout, which still requires production account configuration before launch.
Can I invite my staff?
Role and permission controls are implemented, but self-service team invitations and acceptance are still in development. Do not assume a staff-invitation workflow is available yet.
How is access managed?
Workspace membership and role permissions are checked by the service API. Package entitlements further limit which areas are available, so hiding a menu item is not the only access control.
